Schools and Colleges

Our RE learning programme reflects the locally Agreed Syllabus Believing and Belonging in West Yorkshire 2024, but sessions are cross curricular, incorporating history, geography, art, English, citizenship and SMSC. Visits are usually available Wednesday to Friday.

We also offer age appropriate learning focusing on special days and annual events, for example Peace Day, Remembrance, Black History Month, International Women’s Day and Interfaith Week. Our offer is designed to acknowledge the diverse nature of British society in the 21st century.  Sessions and workshops are led by a qualified teacher and all supporting staff have a current DBS certificate.

We offer special Heritage Open Day sessions during the last two weeks of September. This year's theme is Told by the Dial: stories in stone, an exploration of the 'Calder Tales' inherent within the Mount Zion buildings and grounds. For more details and to arrange a visit please contact [email protected]

This year for Black History Month, there will also be a session suitable for Year 10 and above, focusing on local responses to and involvement in both the Transatlantic Slave Trade and Abolition. Ideal for GCSE and A level students. For more information please contact [email protected]
